A true conversation between Stink and Rex tonight. I was folding towels, Rex was hugging him good night.
Stink: Papa, did you know that Ella at school doesn't like me anymore?
Papa: Really? What happened?
Stink: I don't know. She says I pushed her. (Pause) But I didn't. But that's okay. Because Mommy says girls are crazy sometimes.
Papa: What else did your mama say?
Stink: She said that one time she was mad at you and told you that she didn't like you much, but that you said she was silly.
Laughter from both.
Papa: Is that all you talked about?
Stink: No. She told me that even if girls don't like me, or sometimes my eyes do a little tic, that I'm still perfect. Because God made that way.
Rex: Well, you are perfect. Anything else she told you?
Stink: That I'm cute. (Pause) And I'm going to kick some ass.

isn't it fabulous the things that kids remember? and repeat?
aw... he's got the best attitude, and from the sounds of it, a pretty rockin' mom. WTG!
Oh, yeah. Seems like you're raising a well-rounded boy there. Helping boys figure out girls is tough. I'm going through that right now. Girls can be such pains...except ours, of course.
Stink, now he's my kind of boy...kick some ass indeed! I know a certain young man who does a bit of ass kicking himself...I reared him right! His name is Wallace McBride and right now he's taking on a whole town, lol...and winning!
I'll bet he'll perfectly kick some ass, too!
I love this. And he is cute and there is no doubt that he will kick some ass.
This photo and the one from your last post are terrific... and I think your whole family is perfect.
Kick ass and take names precious little guy. He is wonderful. Grace is also one to drop kick a little booty I hear. Her teacher says we never have to fear that she lets anyone, especially boys, walk on her. Go Grace! And Go Stink! He IS perfect in every way.
Love and hugs,
Sue
Noooo, Mr. Representative from Department of Child & Family Services....I know not of which you speak. Encouraging our son to beat on others, us? Nah.
Yeah, Baby!
Adore the photo. Almost as fun as the conversation. Your husband sounds like a guy who really listens to his children. Totally awesome.
Well said little man!
I love it. My 2.5 year-old is just starting to make conversation. Today he and his friend Audrey (almost 3) were discussing their respective potty chairs. I'm looking forward (both in a good and bad way) to overhear a conversation like this someday.
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! That's pure gold!
