Cinderella's Real Words

Lest my decadent posts of late give you the impression I am nothing but a mere Valley Girl Princess, let me assure you that, while I am indeed a princess, my glass slipper is now shattered. It's around this castle somewhere, but good luck finding it under the post ball wreckage.

You see, after one week of being wined and dined by the finest of high steppin' soul sisters, one comp geek prince and one spell casting mailman bearing cards and flowers, reality has finally struck in the form of HCV: The House Cleaners Virus. Beware of that tricky temptress: she'll make you feel like you're on top of the world, but while you're floating on Cloud 9, she lobbies the toddler bomb into your abode, pulls the trigger, then laughs like Cruella De Ville at your De la Valley confusion.

In fact, pop in Disney's classic for yourself. Press the pause button on the scene featuring Cinderella sitting on the ground in her tattered dress, her carriage now nothing but a moldy pumpkin. If you look closely, you can almost make out the royal words: "Oh, shit..."

Those Disney writers were so clever.

LOL....looks almost as bad as my house. My laundry is never going to be caught up.

And, re: Cinderella's words, for real??? We don't have that Disney gem, much to the chagrin of my daughter. Much to the chagrin of me, we do have Cinderella 3: A Twist in Time, which cannot be referred to as simply Cinderella 3, but rather the whole royal utterance must be issued. It's kind of amusing, as it is a post-matrimony take on Cinderella, hah!

Add a lot more laundry and newspapers and this could be my house.

What you need is a FAIRY BLOG MOTHER! She can clean while you blog. better yet, at the wave of her wand, these will all disappear and new ones will appear!

Mommyham - I'm sure your home looks beautifully lived in - just like mine.
Actually, mine is super clean right now - I went to town... come on by. It will last about 2 seconds only.

Amisare - Oh, yes, we have the newspapers, too. I simply did not want to bore you with the living room photos - our nice "salon" all covered in L.A. times and sticky board books.

Liza - I love your idea of a fairy blog mother. That would be entertaining entries in and of itself. Thanks for always tuning in. Hi to your beautiful boys.

Anonymous - K, for Godsake, when are you EVER anonymous? If blog pictures showed up on your site, we'd see Andy Warhol, tiger prints and vintage vespas in lime green with faux fur seat covers.

Remember that post I did about being all caught up on my laundry? I laugh, I laugh, I laugh. And then I cry for the memory. You should see the piles!
