More Tushin' For the Pushin'

Some of you already read this in my BabyCenter post, so please indulge me when I write that, as of today, three days later, the whoppee cushion is still a never ending source of amusement for my Stink and Pip. Given to them as part of a goody bag from a party, let me tell you that I have never seen either of them laugh so hard, and so long, in their entire life. Stink literally guffawed so hard in the SUV that I thought he'd cough up a lung.

They have gone from simply blowing and squeezing out air (smaller, longer gas) to running and landing on them (quick farts!)

Yesterday on our walk, Stink left Snoopy at home in favor of his new "tushie cushion." Everyone we'd pass by, he'd shout a hearty hello of welcome. Stink: "Hi! My name is Stinker? What is yours? Betty? So, Betty, want to hear a really cool fart?"

Who could resist an intro like that? One ripper was all it took to get the neighbors chatting. We heard stories about their youth, how their kids loved those, how they haven't seen those since the war.... Who knew that a fart bag was such an equilizer? Perhaps all our political candidates should start out their debates with a good squeeze of the tushie cushion.

Happy Tuesday. May you have enough gas and laughter to get you through Friday.

* Blondie is our babysitter. She's as sweet on the inside as she is cute on the outside. No joke. I want to hate her, but I can't. Besides, she loves a good blast from the cushion as much as I do. How could I diss that? Even her dog dropped his chew toy to smile at the fun.

More of my writing can be found on Goodhousekeeping
& Babycenter. I write under the name Andrea Frazer. Drop me a note! I’d love it! Or don’t.

How on earth is it that sounds like that turn me into a 12 year old boy? I can't help it... I laugh and snicker right with my kids, and can't even be a little bit sorry.

Now, full on belly laughter from my kids? Pretty much the sweetest sound on earth. Makes my heart all full and happy.

Glad your kids don't have one of those uptight mommies who can't appreciate good gas!

oh my gosh. I totally need to get my youngest one of those. She would LOVE it.

Your kids are way too cute. I'm serious - I just want to squish them! (lovingly, of course)

That's hilarious because Tiny just got one of those this last weekend from a birthday party too. They have also been having neverending fun with it. I had to make them put it away the first day cause I was going a tad loopy.

Oh my gosh - what a beautiful family you have! I had, of course, seen how cute your kids were in previous pictures, but seriously - they are just gorgeous. They need to be on the box of something I don't really need but would buy anyway just because the kiddie models are so precious.

My kids have been known to get whoopie cushions in their Easter baskets. What's not to love about a good fart sound here and there ?

I love Pip's hair. So sweet. And, I would hate Blondie on sight, but I'll reserve judgment because I trust yours. xxoxoogretchen

What is this fascination with fart noises??? My kids will get a whoopie cushion any chance they get and they never get tired of making/hearing that noise!
LOL!

There's never been a shortage gas in this house, I should get the mister a whoopee cushion since we don't have a dog to blame.

Your "modern vintage" decorated home sounds great - I'd love to come to California just to have a cup of tea with you and head out to Disneyland.

This reminded me of when my brothers got a whoopee cushion. All too soon it was confiscated ... not by Mum but by a highly-aggrieved big sister! The little rotters used to use it to blow a part in my hair one too many times. I'm afraid I didn't have a lot of humour as a teenager.

The first present I ever got The Funasaurus? A remote-controlled whoppee cushin.

I am pretty sure that's what made him decide to marry me.

LOL....

I like the political debates suggestion. Talk about leveling the playing field!

Great photos! Aren't whoopie cushions great? LOL I love the name of your blog. Pass some my way, too.

Nothing like a goo fart, real or via whoopie cushion, to make a child double over in laughter. Heck, adults love 'em too. Grace is our resident noise maker. And nope, she does not have a whoopie cushion. She does it all on her own sweet child.

Your children get cuter every day don't they?? Cute buggers.

And hey! Your earrings look positively chic and elegant on you!! I love that!! : ) They were sent with love and laughter and hugs to a woman I admire and adore with every fiber of my being!

Hugs,
Sue

we can't keep a good whoopie cushion around here, as soon as we get one it gets too much use and is wrecked pretty quickly.

we love them.

We went to a school Bingo Night where my kid won one of the first prizes. Instead of picking one of the expensive gift certificates or nights out for the family, what did he want? Guess! You got it, the whoopie cushion. It lasted a couple of days before being punctured by enthusiasm. Typical.
