I'm Wicked... How 'Bout You?

I saw Wicked last night and it blew me away.

And so, this post is dedicated to anyone who has ever felt different. To those of you with flaws that are really hidden talents.

Music to come later this week. If I'm ever going to figure out how to play audio, now's the time.

"If you care to find me
Look to the western sky!

As someone told me lately:
'Ev'ryone deserves the chance to fly!'

And if I'm flying solo
At least I'm flying free

To those who'd ground me
Take a message back from me

Tell them how I am
Defying gravity

I'm flying high
Defying gravity

And soon I'll match them in renown
And nobody in all of Oz

No Wizard that there is or was
Is ever gonna bring me down

Last time we were in NY, we saw Wicked twice in four nights. It was awesome. Glad you liked it.

I have to wonder about us sometimes. The message in Wicked is that even evil people should get to "do their thing and find themselves". Lovely production, pretty screaming in lieu of actual singing, music that yells at ya...but must be okay if it's on Broadway!! Sheesh. I felt ripped off. Cece

I defyed gravity for many years and intend to keep on trying. You go!

Okay...I missed it in Seattle.

I'm going to have to fly somewhere to see it. Awesome. Beautiful.

Thanks, Mama P.

P.S. Cece is entitled to her opinion, but I don't agree. Also, there's a message here besides the evil thing going on...Oh, well. It's refreshing to see views of others who don't agree. Wouldn't we all be dull if we did?!

OTM - You can't be behind me. I've got room on my broomstick for ya.

Melessa - Let me know how you like it.

Meno - I knew you'd love it.

Pam - Of course you defy gravity. Let's see if we can get that article published and lift our wings that much higher.

Anonymous - I have to disagree with you on this one. The whole point of the show is that the witch wasn't wicked at all. It was all about how she was misunderstood for her skin color, despite doing nothing wrong, and then was cast as the scapegoat. But I am glad you checked in and gave your two cents. Always good to get different view points.

Gretchen - You have to trust me on this one. Go see it. I think your kids would love it, too. (Of course, this is an expensive proposition, but something to think about.)

I loved Wicked, too. Much more so than the book, which I read first and thought was overwritten and over-hyped.

The musical (which was loosely based on the book, and had a better ending, in my opinion) was SO much better, and I LOVED the songs. Esp. the defying gravity one.

Amisare - You, with your love for music, would dig this show. Such a great message.

Princess - I'm not surprised that you liked this, given your love of green creatures. Kermit for a wedding song? I dig it.
