Flower Power

With Pipsqueak out of diapers (except for night time coverage... think Niagara Falls meets a box of Charmin) I have extra money left over. I could spend it on some exotic fruit for a gourmet recipe. A nice wine for one of Rex and my Friday cooking extravaganzas. Perhaps a new coffee table or a class for the kids?

But I have opted for flowers. My children might get sucker punched by everyone else in the school whose mothers send them to toddler karate, but Pip and Stink will have a nice arrangement to stare out while I ice them down.

As far as getting some updated magazines, I'm still working on that one. (Real Simple is from October... any takers?)

What are some of the things you treat yourself to, or want to?

I would love fresh flowers in the house, too, but first I want the DVD of Discovery's "Planet Earth."

My magazines are Smithsonian and...AARP, oh yeah.

Reading for pleasure...in the next 2-3 weeks before classes start again!

Flowers always brighten my day. Good choice! And I like those Real Simple Magazines too. I think I have the december issue - want to trade? :)

I love buying myself flowers - nothing makes a kitchen feel fresher to me than a beautiful bouquet on the counter.

I don't think you could ever go wrong with flowers! Great choice.

Although right now, if I had some spare cash, I think I would spend it on getting this nice piece of artwork I have, framed. It's currently sitting in my closet, and I want to be able to see it every day instead of forgetting I even have it!

(P.S. I'm talking some fancy, girl-y frame, here, not some generic thing from Target. ... No offense to Target, my home away from home.)

I would have gone for the wine. that tells you a lot about me.

I love a good glass of viognier. I also love a good trip to Target. Lastly, purses are my wished for indulgence. I don't care if they're $15 or $50 as long as they're cute.

Great post.

I'd like to treat myself to a pair of Manolos and a lifetime supply of Xanax. And if some hot single guy who likes bendy 30-yr old chicks wants to gift me with the new Tiffany diamond in their lotus blossom setting, I'd happily accept. Sadly, I don't get many treats nor do I tend to treat myself.
